What motivates you, Jack?
The energy from everyone is infectious, and it’s a very creative environment with a huge collaborative approach. You feel like you're making progress on something large and tangible. Also, it's a great place to be yourself and show off your personality. Surge is a safe, comfortable environment that allows everyone to be themselves while working towards something deeply rewarding. It's fab!

Jack, in an alternate universe, if you weren't a Content Writer, what would you be?
I would be a romance novelist, living in a cabin in the Cotswolds with a cosy fireplace and a rustic typewriter. Maybe that'll be my retirement plan, one day?
What have you worked on that you're most proud of, Jack?
I’m most proud of the content I’ve produced for Surge’s new website (the exact words you're reading right now). It’s been a really fun and collaborative process to rewrite our service pages with at least 5,000 words per page, and I’ve been working closely with the design team, developers, and other members of my team to create some outstanding content that will reap tons of rewards. And it's only just begun too which is both an exciting and daunting task.
Jack, have you met anyone famous?
Yes! I had the pleasure of meeting my all-time favourite singer/songwriter, Birdy, and snapped a selfie with her. She was absolutely lovely. I also had the chance to meet Gareth David Lloyd from Torchwood and Doctor Who, who portrayed my favourite character, Solas, in Dragon Age Inquisition.
Best advice you've heard, Jack?
Julien Baker, one of my favourite indie-folk artists, once said that: "Mistakes are inevitable. But it's important to practice mercy with yourself daily and to use your previous mistakes as opportunities for growth and occasions to display graciousness."
Jack, if money wasn’t a worry in the world, what would you do?
Oh, I would buy the best tickets to see Taylor Swift every tour day and fly from city to city, country to country to be there. She'd probably see me and point, her face lighting up with recognition and gratitude: “Oh my gosh, it's him again. It's my biggest fan, Jack Dodsworth!” And she’d be so right.
