With its ever-changing functionalities and services, it's no huge surprise that a dislike button is finally coming to Facebook.
The executive of the social media platform, Mark Zuckerberg, announced today that Facebook are indeed working on a brand new “dislike button” feature. The purpose of the dislike button is to “show empathy” towards user’s posts. For example, it might not come across as appropriate to like the death of a loved one, or an emotional situation. However, a dislike button will certainly cause conflict between likes and dislikes, with people disliking posts that they simply don’t approve of.
Is a dislike button a good idea or not? It’s definitely another game-changer from Facebook, but there’s bound to be some mixed reactions over this new feature. Let us know what you think in the comments!
